“Everyone on bikes – bikes for everyone”: Bike demo on June 3 for International Bicycle Day
On Monday, June 3, 2025, for International Bicycle Day, the Zurich bike community is calling for a big bike demounder the slogan “Everyone on bikes – bikes for everyone.” The demo starts at 6:30 p.m. at Helvetiaplatz in Zurich.
With this campaign, the organizers want to send a strong message: Get more people on bikes, promote inclusive mobility, and make Zurich even more bike-friendly. The ride is open to everyone who enjoys cycling or would like to start, regardless of age, background, political views, or fitness level.
“Bikes are for everyone. They're cheap, healthy, practical, and just plain fun – no matter who you are or where you come from. That's why bikes have the potential to connect people and make cities more livable. We want to celebrate that.”
For children, young people, and immigrants, a bike is often the first step toward independent mobility. That's why the bike demo is not only meant to motivate people to ride, but also to send a clear message: for sustainable, fair, and inclusive mobility – in the city and in the countryside.
Participants are invited to come in costume or with face paint. The event is intended to be colorful, loud, and cheerful, with music, creative posters, and lots of different bikes. Everyone is welcome, whether you have a city bike, cargo bike, racing bike, or children's bike. For people who really can't find a bike or have disabilities, there will be opportunities to ride on tandems or other special bikes.
